The pursuit of Walace continues, with Gremio turning down a second Fiorentina bid. As per earlier rumors, Fiorentina's initial effortof a loan spell with a commitment to buy was outright rejected. According to reports from Di Marzio -- one of the more-informed transfer moguls -- a second bid for an unknown amount has been turned down.
Unperturbed, the club remain committed to getting their man and seem set to launch a final assault before the weekend. Gremio seem set to hold out for as good an offer as they can get, so we'll have to see if Fiorentina can get them to budge.
The hustle and bustle of the Brazilian is in high demand at the Artemio Franchi, with the youngster seemingly a fine fit for one of Paulo Sousa's more combative midfield roles. The player has been a regular figure for Gremio since breaking through to the senior side in 2014 and has been described as a big part of their current successful spell.
While earlier comparisons to Paul Pogba sound more like a selling club trying to maximize their profits, the prospect of a tall, strong, and technically capable midfielder sounds good. Sort of like the opposite of David Pizarro, but in a good way.
