It feels like just a week ago that Fiorentina closed down their season with a season-affirming win over (a visibly disinterested) Juventus, confirming their spot in the Conference League and their first return to European competition since 2016-2017 and their highest finish in the league since 2015-2016. Despite some deeply disappointing moments, it’s the best Viola campaign in half a decade, and there’s clear momentum building behind the club to take a big step forward in 2022-2023.
Paramount to taking that step, of course, is the summer transfer window. With Fiorentina set to compete on three fronts—Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Conference League—Daniele Pradè and Joe Barone have plenty of work to do, both in terms of upgrading the starting XI and building quality depth throughout the squad so that Vincenzo Italiano can rotate his players, keeping them fresh for a long and punishing season.
To help you keep track, consider this your VN hub for all the transfer activity we cover: signings, departures, and even (deep sigh) rumors. Even though we’re months away from the traditional holiday season, we can safely say that this is indeed the most blunderful time of the year. Let’s all get through it together.
