That’s it. The dust has settled on yet another Fiorentina transfer window, and we can finally take a look at the results. As usual, it featured a lot of young prospects, some surprise signings, and very little warning about which deals actually went through.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about this window was that Pantaleo Corvino somehow turned a slight profit despite producing a pretty strong mercato in terms of signing exciting new talent, adding depth all over the pitch, and keeping the key players at the club. You may be confused how he did this without actually selling anyone this year until you realize that the fees for Nikola Kalinić and Khouma Babacar weren’t paid until this summer. Also keep in mind that there could be further sales (which we’ll update here), as the window remains open in several other leagues, which is why we won’t release our full mercato grades until the end of the month.
