It’s been reported in Bild, that left back Konstantinos Stafylidis is a potential transfer target for La Viola. The Greek international is currently applying his trade for Augsburg in the Bundesliga and has caught Fiorentina’s eye.

Following Milic’s transfer to Olympiakos, Maxi Olivera is currently the only recognised left back at the club. While he’s not a bad player it certainly would be of help if there was someone to challenge him for his place, or better yet take over it.

Fiorentina have never really replaced Marcos Alonso since he left for Chelsea, and have begun looking at targets such as Jordan Amavi of Aston Villa and most recently been linked with a move for Ivan Strinic of Napoli.

Stafylidis has amassed quite a bit of experience, considering he’s only 23 years of age. He’s played over 130 senior appearances across Europe in Greece, England and Germany. He’s also been capped 17 times for for his national side to had to his already impressive CV. The full-back also has an impressive scoring rate for a defender, scoring 5 goals in his time at Augsburg, converting 4 in his 27 outings last season. Including some stunning strikes, in the video below.

The 23-year-old also has the ability to play at left midfield which adds versatility to his game. It’s been reported that it should take around 10 million euros to prise him away from Augsburg, with Hamburg also said to be interested in the left back.

With the club looking at potential full back targets, let us know who your preferred choice at left back next season.
