Polish newspaper Super Express reports that Fiorentina have agreed terms with teenage Lech Poznań. talent Dawid Kownacki, and are now working to reach a deal with the club. Fiorentina are believed to have offered €3,000,000 for Kownacki whilst Poznań are playing hard ball, demanding €4,000,000 and a percentage of any future sale in hope of holding onto the player until after this Summer’s u21 European Championship.
Despite being just 19-years old Kownacki has an impressive 80 league appearances for Poznań, scoring 16 goals. Though he’s shown himself to be capable of scoring from anywhere within 20-yards of the goal, Kownacki greatest talent looks to be his ability to find space inside the box; well demonstrated by the, admittedly somewhat fortuitous, opening goal of the home fixture against Fiorentina in the Europa League last season.
Whilst unlikely to break into the first team any time soon, Kownacki would be a valuable addition to the Primavera where he’d likely spend the rest of the season becoming acclimatised to life on the peninsula before being given an opportunity to prove himself on loan in the lower tiers.
