With 2015/16 coming to a close, attention is beginning to slowly shift towards the summer transfer market and a recent report believes Fiorentina will be looking to build an all-Italian core in the coming months.
Despite not having confirmed a European place for next season, the Corriere Fiorentino newspaper insists the club is looking to add five interesting names to Paulo Sousa's squad before next season.
According to a story in Thursday's edition (April 28), the Viola have made initial enquiries about the availability of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper - and Azzurri regular - Salvatore Sirigu.
The 29 year old has won 15 caps as backup for Gigi Buffon, but is out of favour in the French capital since the arrival of Kevin Trapp last summer. Hellas Verona's relegation has seen Federico Viviani emerge as another target, while Valerio Verre of Udinese and Sassuolo midfielder Simone Missiroli have also been mentioned.
The other name is another regular in Antonio Conte's recent squads, with Graziano Pelle about to enter the final year of his Southampton contract and perhaps looking to move on. The report has yet to be confirmed by other sources, but presents an intruiging list of targets that would undoubtedly strengthen Fiorentina's thin squad.
