As the transfer window drew to a close, Fiorentina secured the signing of Greece international Panagiotis Kone from Udinese with his former club announcing the deal at almost 9:30 pm local time.

He arrives with plenty of Serie A experience after scoring 14 goals in 158 outings for Brescia, Bologna and Udinese, but has struggled with injury this term which has limited him to just two league starts for the Friulian side.

"Fiorentina announce that they have reached an agreement with Udinese for the temporary signing of the player Panagiotis Kone," read a statement on the official Fiorentina website.  "Kone, born in Tirana in Albania but a naturalised Greek, has represented AEK Athens, Iraklis, Brescia and Bologna.  "Kone has also worn the Greek national shirt 28 times, scoring two goals."
