It’s another friendly and another chance for all the new faces to assert themselves. The match will be played on Tuesday, 1 August 2017, at 5 PM CET/11 AM EST, at the Eintracht-Stadion in Braunschweig, Germany.

Stefano Pioli will take this opportunity to hand a start to new signing Jordan Veretout in the middle, but the rest of the XI will probably be quite similar to what he’s rolled out in previous friendlies. Keep an eye out for Riccardo Saponara, who’s finally been declared healthy and may be wearing a mask; it’s unclear if he’s fit enough to start even in a friendly, but he should at least see the pitch for the first time this off-season.

Eintracht Braunschweig have already begun their 2. Bundesliga season. Manager Torsten Lieberknecht, besides having a wonderful name, usually trots out a 3-4-2-1 formation. He’s got a few injuries to worry about, but should set out to frustrate Fiorentina in the center of the pitch by flooding the middle, leaving the opposing fullbacks in space.
