Fiorentina have returned to winning ways this afternoon with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sassuolo. After six games without a win, Coach Paulo Sousa altered his tactics which saw the Viola return to the kind of form that brought them success at the beginning of the season. In addition to goals from Captain Gonzalo Rodriguez and Josip Ilicic, an inexplicable own goal from Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli sealed the points after Domenico Berardi had pulled one back for the visitors.

Ending the game just two points behind Inter and six behind Roma, Fiorentina now find themselves back in the hunt for third place with their next game away to Udinese on Wednesday night.
