A Fiorentina fan just groped a team reporter on live TV

During the week when Serie A calls out violence against women, some sorry excuse for a man assaults Greta Beccaglia.

This man is a piece of shit. If you recognize him, tell him so.

After Fiorentina’s loss to Empoli, in a week where Serie A is collectively bringing awareness to violence against women, the amazing Fiorentina sports reporter Greta Beccaglia was sexually assaulted by a piece of shit Fiorentina fan. During a live report on Toscana TV, Greta was interviewing folks as they were leaving the stadium, getting their perspective on the game. As she was reporting back to the commentators in the studio, the piece of shit pictured above walked past Greta, reached his hand out and grabbed her buttocks. Greta responded with shock to the assault as the guy drifted off out of screen into a moment of relative obscurity, no doubt looking forward to bragging about his shitty antics to his friends later.

Oh hell no. This was crime and the man, if found, should be charged. This is something that must be stopped. Rather than condemning this man’s actions, a few of Greta’s colleagues back at the studio asked her “not to be angry.” Shameful! This type of attitude toward the disrespect of woman enables that disrespect to continue.

Greta covers Fiorentina on both TV and radio and is very well known in Florence. She is a knowledgeable and passionate journalist with an excellent reputation in her field. I have had the honor of being interviewed on Greta’s radio show before and can attest to the fact that she is the consummate professional and deserves to be treated as such.

Beyond her professional credentials, though, any woman entering (or exiting) that stadium deserves to exist in that space without men touching her body without her consent. We as a fanbase cannot move forward with people like this, and like the fan who yelled racial slurs to Kalidou Koulibaly, pulling us back. Whoever this person is should be called out and punished. Fiorentina fans, ATF, ACCVC and all Viola Clubs should respond accordingly.

I want to thank my wife, Judith, for taking the time to work on this with me. We stand with Greta. We stand with all women who are victims of sexual assault and crimes. Teach our children better!
