After 11 years with Fiorentina, Captain Manuel Pasqual has played his last game for the club, bowing out in Sunday's home fixture with Palermo. Arriving in 2005 from Arezzo, the Veneto native has made 351 appearances in the famous Viola shirt, scoring ten goals in the process.

The 34 year-old left back had expressed his desire to remain at the club, despite losing the captaincy to Gonzalo Rodriguez at the beginning of the season. "If I had my way I'd stay," Pasqual told reporters at a charity football tournament last Thursday, adding "I'm waiting for a signal that hasn't come".
Arriving on the pitch with a T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Grazie Firenze", a visibly emotional Pasqual thanked supporters inside the stadium after the game before completely breaking down in tears when interviewed after the event.
Whilst the player's future remains unclear, the Viola fans inside the Stadio Artemio Franchi certainly gave their Captain a send off to remember.
