Not only is Cristian Tello "very proud" to have joined Fiorentina, but the Barcelona youth product
has already begun trying to recruit a former team-mate to join him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Both the Viola and the Catalan giants announced that the 24 year old had ended his spell with Porto
to move to Italy, and he is already speaking about the club in glowing terms.
"As soon as I heard about the interest from a club like this I decided to come here," Tello said at his
official presentation. "I was at a club where I wasn't getting many minutes so I'm very proud to have
arrived in Florence, it was important to find a team that believed in me.

"I was happy at Porto at first, I was playing a lot, but then something changed. I came to Florence to
find new opportunities. It's very important for me to play in Italy at a big club like Fiorentina, Serie A
is a big challenge for me. Fiorentina will fight for important objectives, I hope to stay here.
"This is a tight-knit team and I'd like to thank everyone for the way they welcomed me and how they
helped me blend in. I can play on the right or the left, but the Coach will decide where to play me."
He was then asked about Fiorentina being linked with central defender Marc Bartra, 25, who has
made just eight league appearances for Barcelona this season, and is seemingly a player Tello
admires.
"I often speak with him, he's a friend of mine but he hasn't spoken about the idea of Fiorentina," the
new signing replied. "He complimented me for moving here and I think he's a top player who would
be helpful to Fiorentina. I think Barta is someone who needs to play and feel important to the team.
I think it's a step he should take for his career."
