The two and a half year deal is believed to be worth €2.1 million and joins Tino Costa as the second signing of this window. Zarate's arrival paves the way for Giuseppe Rossi to join Levante on loan, which seems to be a done deal as the player said goodbye and thanked Fiorentina fans on his official Twitter account today.
There is likely to be more activity during January as the priority remains to secure a central defender. There are a number of rumoured options in this position, including long term target Lisandro Lopez of Benfica, but it remains to be seen who will end up in a Viola shirt come the end of the window.
