2015 has been a good year for La Viola, in 39 games under the stewardship of Vincenzo Montella and now Paulo Sousa, the team have amassed an impressive 75 points.
Only reigning champions Juventus have scored more points this year, and lead the table with 81, although it is worth noting that Fiorentina have scored 73 goals in comparison to the bianconeri's 66.
The stats clearly illustrate how Sousa has improved on the success that was started by Montella. The now Sampdoria coach oversaw 22 games at the start of 2015, his team collecting 38 points and scoring 40 goals. This brings an average of 1.72 points and 1.82 goals per game. After a summer of upheaval and a reduction of the wage budget, in the 17 games in the final half of the year, Fiorentina under Sousa have scored 37 points and 33 goals - an improved average of 2.18 points per game and 1.94 goals.
Some astute signings in the transfer window could see an even better 2016 for Fiorentina as they compete at the top of Serie A and in the Europa League after the Winter Break.
