Late news
Real Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini picks more or less his expected XI. That includes our old friend Germán Pezzella in central defense. Our other old friend Joaquín is on the bench but should feature at some point. A fun fact is that, last time these sides faced each other, Joaquín was wearing a purple shirt: Fiorentina triumphed in the 2014 Copa del Sol over los Verdiblancos behind strikes from Juan Manuel Vargas and Khouma Babacar.
Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano has picked something close to his first-choice XI, with a starting role for Nikola Milenković perhaps indicating that the Serbia international is staying in Florence. Per my calculations, Ricky Sottil is the only Viola player who’s played with Joaquín at any point, which is pretty wild.
Lineups
Real Betis (4-2-3-1): Bravo; Sabaly, Pezzella, Bartra, Moreno; Rodríguez, Carvalho; Canales, Fekir, Juanmi; Iglesias
Fiorentina (4-3-3): Terracciano; Dodô, Milenković, Igor, Biraghi; Bonaventura, Amrabat, Maleh; González, Jović, Sottil
