Roma vs Fiorentina: Lineups and how to watch

The Viola have definitely sprung a surprise or two for the season opener.

Late news

Bologna manager Jose Mourinho hasn’t done anything surprising, picking the exact XI we expected. How boring.

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano has picked Igor ahead of Lucas Martínez Quarta in the heart of defense, but the big news is that Youssef Maleh will make his Viola and Serie A debut in place of Gaetano Castrovilli. This is also Cristiano Biraghi’s first game with the armband, with Lorenzo Venuti serving as the vice-captain.

Lineups

Roma (4-2-3-1): Rui Patrício; Karsdorp, Mancini, Ibañez, Viña; Veretout, Cristante; Zaniolo, Pellegrini, Mkhitaryan; Abraham

Fiorentina (4-3-3): Drągowski; Venuti, Milenković, Igor, Biraghi; Bonaventura, Pulgar, Maleh; Callejón, Vlahović, González

How to watch

TV: Maybe try BeIn or BT Sport depending on where you are, but you’re probably going to have to stream this one. Here are the full international listings.

Online: Here is your list of safe, reliable, and legal streams. For those of you in the US, don’t forget that ESPN+ no longer carries Serie A; it’s now at Paramount+, so remember to switch your subscriptions as necessary.

Any requests for or links to illegal streams in the comments will get you ejected. If you’re the Twitter type, give us a follow; we’ll be posting live updates there. Otherwise, keep it in the comments for the usual ache that follows preseason optimism meeting reality with the best damn sports community on the internet.

Forza Viola!
