Late news

Despite a valiant effort, Fiorentina Femmenile were unable to overcome Juventus for the Supercoppa earlier today, so it falls to the men’s team to get the club a win. Manager Cesare Prandelli is forced to shuffle his deck without Franck Ribery and Gaetano Castrovilli, so Erick Pulgar and José Callejón slide into the XI, with Martín Cáceres also returning at wingback. Cagliari boss Eusebio di Francesco, missing a host of players due to injury has also swapped things a bit: Fabio Pisacane and Christian Oliva get rare starts, while ex-Viola attackers Giovanni Simeone and Riccardo Sottil both start.

Lineups

Fiorentina (3-5-2): Drągowski; Milenković, Pezzella (c), Igor; Cáceres, Amrabat, Pulgar, Bonaventura, Biraghi; Callejón, Vlahović

Cagliari (4-2-3-1): Cragno; Pisacane, Walukiewicz, Godín, Lykogiannis; Oliva, Marin; Sottil, Nainggolan, João Pedro (c); Simeone
