Thank you Cutrone! Thank you Chiesa! P!$$ off VAR!
With a very good second game from Christian Kouame, he showed us that there may just be a solution to our meager attack already on the team to compliment Vlahovic or Cutrone, this game was the exact opposite of what we have all come to understand what Fiorentina’s identiy is. A very dull, boring and drab first 95 minutes against Hellas Verona, Fiorentina did equalize with a miraculous 96th minute goal from the heavens which created an excitement in my house that has been missing during Viola games lately.
Lets forget for a moment that Fiorentina’s best player on the pitch is the player that the purchased and loaned back to Verona, This Fiorentina squad finally finished a game with the momentum and run of play with them which will hopefully follow them into the next game. That is all that I needed to see. This team is so young, so impressionable that momentum matters so much to them. We have that now going into Lecce, which is why I say we will win by a score of either 3-1 or 4-1. Mark it down here!
Now let’s hear from our global fans.
Andrea Di Salvo - Charming host of Lady Radio - “With a draw found at the last second, Fiorentina has found another point, which serves to reach salvation. We can’t wait for this championship of suffering to end. Now it would be essential not to lose in Lecce. If victory comes, it would be an important step indeed. It never gives up and we always support our colors. Even if we can’t go to the stadium, the fans are always there.”
Matteo Bambi on behalf of Viola Club Paris - “We took one incredibly important point by the skin of our bloody teeth. Again a very bad performance. Just Castrovilli, Cutrone and Kouame were worthy. Let’s get a veil on all the others. Tomorrow it’s a final at Via del Mare in Lecce. Hoping to turn this page very soon with an happy ending.”
Gianni Matteo Rontani, President of the Rocco Commisso Fan Club - “I saw a bad game, but losing would have been unfair. Iachini said he was happy with the draw, I absolutely wasn’t. I’ve seen a lot of confusion and tension, and I don’t think Beppe can do more in the last 6 races. It was Patrick who saved him after expired time, on an assist from Federico who then made a very bad gesture after. As you know, for some time, I have not commented on penalties, for us or against, as too many are not regular. There are too few consistencies. This VAR, after so many protocols and variations, still does not work today”
Sergio Dondoli, two time Gelato World Champion and Owner of the world’s best gelato at Gelateria Dondoli in San Gimignano - “The first half of Fiorentina demonstrates the difficulties of managing the ball when the opposing team presses high. We must say that Verona can always bring many men in the attack phase. At the end of the first half Fiorentina managed to build better the actions that led to two shots from outside the penalty area. Ribery is the centerpiece of the game but was watched very closely by the defenders of Verona. In the second half, Fiorentina was more active and at 67 minutes, Cutrone who took over from Ribery but spoiled an opportunity to score a header, in the end there were 5 scoring chances and finally at the last second Cutrone manages to deservedly equalize with a beautiful goal. Great game by Castrovilli in the second half.”
Yotam Shavit, President of Viola Club Israel - “Another scrappy display, but with a very important point. The game started slow but got pacier with time. The second half was much less sucky that the first. Kouame played a very big game, completing the full 90 minutes and showing some of his capabilities, which I’m sure got some fans excited. Iachini-ball is about as dead as I have ever seen the Viola and I cant wait for this season to end. Amrabat was the MVP, and I am totally excited to see him come to us.”
Alessandro Sisto, President of Viola Club New York - “Another initial squad that I just didn't get. I’ve said that since the beginning, Chiesa has to play on the wing and Cutrone is a “Box Man”, a finisher. But again, i may not know much about football at this point. I liked Kouame but at the beginning he was playing with his shoulder towards the goal and hes not Vlahovic, therefore I had hard times. Wednesday is probably the most important game of the season against Lecce (and they won at home). Fingers crossed.”
