Friday Poll: Who’s your favorite striker for the January window?

Fiorentina have been linked to a handful of center forwards in this winter mercato.

I don’t want to alarm you, but I’m going to present a statistic that’s pretty alarming. Fiorentina’s top three strikers—Dušan Vlahović, Christian Kouamé, and Patrick Cutrone—have combined for 2 goals across 1182 minutes in Serie A this season. That’s a goal every 591 minutes. None of them have notched an assist. That’s the worst performance from any group of strikers in the Italian top flight outside of Parma, whose strikers are yet to score.

So yeah. It seems like a fait accompli that DS Daniele Pradè is going to shuffle things around up top come January. For good or for ill, Cutrone seems the likeliest departure after restructuring his loan deal, but we still don’t have any solid evidence about would replace him. While the club isn’t likely to splash a huge fee or wages on someone who’s likely to be a stopgap, especially since manager Cesare Prandelli is out at season’s end and the incoming mister will want some say in recruitment, there are some interesting names out there.

Felipe Caicedo may be the most economical option (more on that here) but doesn’t exactly set the pulse to racing. We’ve heard whispers of Hertha Berlin’s Krzysztof Piątek wanting a return to Italy as well, and with former teammate Kouamé around, he could fit in seamlessly; while 3 goals and 2 assists in 388 minutes is a pretty dang nice return, his famous struggles at AC Milan last year raised a lot of red flags. And Arkadiusz Milik remains out of a contract and could be ready to sign on the line after reportedly rejecting the Viola this summer.
