Roma 2-2 Fiorentina: Highlights

A draw doesn’t really make any difference to Fiorentina anyways.

Pre-match

AS Roma coach Claudio Ranieri gave Justin Kluivert a rare start on the wing, while Nicolò Zaniolo (who played for Fiorentina at one time) got the start in midfield. Viola mister Stefano Pioli picked Bryan Dabo in midfield.

First half

Fiorentina captain Germán Pezzella headed a bouncer into the roof of the net after a clever corner routine and nice cross from Cristiano Biraghi.

85 seconds later, Roma’s 19-year-olds connected to equalize, with Kluivert crossing for Zaniolo to head home.

At 23’, Luis Muriel hit the post after a drive from fully 35 yards out that left Roma goalie Antonio Mirante utterly bamboozled. Would have been the finest strike you’ll see.

Second half

Gerson pulled Fiorentina back ahead from nowhere with a volley that took a big deflection off Juan Jesus and left Mirante with no chance.

Diego Perotti evened it up with a deflected volley of his own not long after, though.
