Pre-match

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini mostly chose his expected XI, with Pierluigi Gollini and Berat Djimisti replacing Etrit Berisha and Gianluca Mancini, respectively. Benassi split the defense and found Federico Chiesa in space, and Chiesa played a perfect ball through for Luis Muriel to tap past Gollini for the opener.
