That was a slog, but at least there were a couple of fun moments.

Pre-match

Stefano Pioli picked Kevin Mirallas out wide and Vincent Laurini at fullback in the absences of Federico Chiesa and Germán Pezzella. Marco Benassi wore the armband against his old club. Walter Mazzarri opted for Iago Falque and Saša Lukić in attack and midfield, respectively.

First half

Fiorentina got an early lead through Giovanni Simeone, who was played onside by Cristian Ansaldi to score the easiest goal he’s had all year.

Torino answered through a simply brilliant Daniele Baselli strike.

Second half

Dušan Vlahović and Tòfol Montiel (making his debut) both got some minutes and occasionally looked decent, but this was pretty grim.

Full time

Goals: Simeone 7’ (ass. Vitor Hugo), Baselli 34’ (ass. Falque)

Cards: Baselli 43’, Zaza 85’
