As we predicted, Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has rotated his backline, bringing in Berat Djimisti and Andrea Masiello. The midfield, too, will look different, as Remo Freuler and Robin Gosens return to the first XI. The attack, however, will be the same three players we saw in the midweek.
Fiorentina captain Germán Pezzella has astoundingly recovered from a knee injury weeks ahead of schedule, so Stefano Pioli has sent him out there in place of Vitor Hugo. He’s decided to roll with three at the back again, so the shape is a slightly unfamiliar 3-4-3 with Vincent Laurini on the right of the midfield and Edimilson Fernandes tasked with locking down the center along with Jordan Veretout. The scintillating tridente of Federico Chiesa, Luis Muriel, and Giovanni Simeone will indeed start.
Atalanta (3-4-2-1): Gollini; Masiello, Djimsiti, Mancini; Castagne, De Roon, Freuler, Gosens; Gomez, Ilicic; Zapata
Fiorentina (3-4-3): Lafont; Milenković, Pezzella, Ceccherini; Laurini, Veretout, Fernandes, Biraghi; Chiesa, Simeone, Muriel
