Friday Poll: Who do you want as Fiorentina’s next coach?

It sounds like Stefano Pioli is on the outs, barring a miracle, so the search for a new manager should be kicking into gear pretty soon.

As Fiorentina and Stefano Pioli prepare for what should be a fairly amicable divorce, the fans are understandably debating who will serve as the mister’s replacement. There’s no shortage of proven talent out there, as well as some intriguing up-and-comers with ties to Florence who could well find the Viola job too tempting to turn down.

As club brass try to figure out which direction to go next, though, there are a lot of calculations to make. Clearly, a manager who plays an aggressive, high-pressing scheme is necessary, as that’s what the squad is constructed to do. Whether the Della Valle brothers want an experienced hand on the tiller, though, or a young leader who can connect with the players remains the mystery; doubtless the rumor mill will start churning out names soon, but for now, we can bask in the beauty of theories.
