Friday Poll: What’s the plan for the mercato?

New, comments

Franck Ribery’s injury means that Fiorentina has a lot of work to do in the transfer market next month.

Following the news that Franck Ribery is going to miss at least a couple of months (and maybe more) with an ankle injury suffered against Lecce, it’s become even more obvious that Fiorentina desperately need some help in attack. After all, this is an outfit that hasn’t been able to score a single goal against the 3 sides that are new to Serie A this year; now absent their most creative passer, that problem will only be amplified.

This being Fiorentina, of course, it’s still not entirely clear that a new attacker should be the top priority in the transfer window. A real creator in the midfield is clearly necessary, a center forward who can actually finish off some chances is perhaps even more desperately needed, and a rightback or right wingback looks to be a crucial position as well (Pol Lirola, Lorenzo Venuti, and Riccardo Sottil haven’t really convinced there yet).
