The new season has gotten off to an excellent start. In the young season, the notion of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” should probably continue until there is an issue. With that being said the fans want to see all the shiny new toys that were brought on during the summer transfer window. One of those guys is Kevin Mirallas. He is a little older than a lot of the guys on the roster, but with that experience comes great expectations. It would be great to see what Mirallas really can bring to Fiorentina. I am not going to that Valentin Eysseric does not deserve a chance to play, but Mirallas should be ahead of him on the depth chart.
It is very possible that Mirallas and Marko Pjaca are learning the scheme, while adjusting to life in Florence. This can be a big reason why they have not been featured as part of the starting 11 yet this season. Mirallas is a top talent that can be a play maker for the likes of Giovanni Simeone and Federico Chiesa.
Mirallas also has a nose for goal that could be useful to the team even though they have not had too many issues scoring goals this season. It cannot hurt to give Mirallas a shot. This may be too quick to start calling for Mirallas to get some playing time, but Stefano Pioli has his favorites and for some reason does not play others. For instance last season Riccardo Sapponara barely got any playing time the whole season even though he was brought on to be a playmaker. It is possible that Mirallas can have a similar fate. Hopefully, this is not true and bringing in Kevin Mirallas is not a bad move.
He deserves to get a shot on the pitch to show what he can do. Watching some of the highlights from practice on instagram, Mirallas looks like the real deal. It will be fun to see how great of player he can be with a violet shirt on.
