Big news of the day is that Roma’s Radja Nainggolan is back on the pitch after a muscle injury. Otherwise, Fiorentina is on a roll and looking to keep their European football hopes alive. Also Chiesa did not play in this match.

First Half

In a great a start Marco Benassi was in the right place at the right time and scored a quick goal on a set piece in the 7’.

For much of the rest of the first half Marco Sportiello was being peppered with shots from Roma and managed to stop them all.

In a stroke of luck Giovanni Simeone found the back of the net in the 39’ to give Fiorentina a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Second Half

The Second half was much of the same, Roma held possession for most of the half and kept taking shots. Luckily, the brick wall known as Marco Sportiello held firm.

Roma took 24 shots on goal and did not score one of them. Solid work by Sportiello and the Fiorentina defense.
