Pre-match

Both teams lined up more or less as expected. Bryan Dabo made his first start for Fiorentina.

First half

After 28 minutes, Diego Falcinelli produced a brilliant backheel in the box to put Federico Chiesa through on goal, and Giuseppe Pezzella blatantly bundled him over from behind for a penalty that didn’t require any VAR intervention. Jordan Veretout stepped up and sent Albano Bizzarri the wrong way.

Second half

Substitute Giovanni Simeone made a nearly instant impact. Chiesa angled a pass inside for Cholito at the top of the box, and the Argentine bundled his way past a couple of defenders before lashing home past Bizzarri to double the lead and add his second goal in 3 days.
