There are certain players that have a lot of talent and the fan base gets excited to see them play. One of those was transferred away this season and his name was Ianis Hagi. Another one of those players was a young lad by the name of Simone Lo Faso. Lo Faso was loaned to Fiorentina by Palermo during the summer transfer window. He is a pacy winger that can move to the center of the pitch as well. Basically, all signs pointed to the young man getting an opportunity to show his skills.
Unfortunately, Stefano Pioli and company had other ideas for Lo Faso. Those ideas included sitting on the bench and watching the likes of Cyril Thereau play the position. Hopefully, that was as frustrating for Lo Faso as it was for La Viola faithful. He did get a few opportunities this season, but Lo Faso saw so few minutes that they barely mattered. Now with the team in striking distance of a European spot, Lo Faso will not play the rest of the season.
Lo Faso Fractured his fibula in training on April 10, 2018. This blow to the leg is not just an injury, but the end to a prospect’s season. Lo Faso will be out the remainder of the year, but this does not necessarily end his career in Florence. Although Lo Faso is on loan the team has an option to buy at the end of the season.
His play on the pitch will not be enough to determine if he is suitable to stay on the team. It will be his attitude and play in practice that will help the coaches and management make that decision. The young lad has a bright future and should be someone Fiorentina tries to keep on the team going into the 2018-2019 season.
Once the season is over, there will definitely be a clearer picture for Lo Faso’s future. Hopefully, he sticks with Fiorentina. He seems to love the city and has bonded well with his teammates. It is just unfortunate that he did not get a lot of playing time to prove himself to the fans.
