Late news
AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has opted to cover his midfield crisis by shoehorning rightback Davide Calabria and winger Hakan Çalhanoğlu into central midfield along with seldom-used Josè Mauri. Ignazio Abate starts at the back, and Patrick Cutrone will begin on the bench, as will former Fiorentina captain Riccardo Montolivo, who may get some burn in this one despite being in Gattuso’s doghouse.
Fiorentina mister Stefano Pioli returns to the XI that he opted for during much of the winless streak, with Edimilson Fernandes returning as a mezzala and Jordan Veretout in the holding role despite positive performances from Christian Nørgaard and Bryan Dabo last week. Kevin Mirallas will maintain his starting berth.
Formations
AC Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Abate, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodríguez; Calabria, Mauri, Çalhanoğlu; Suso, Higuaín, Castillejo
Fiorentina (4-3-3): Lafont; Milenković, Pezzella, Vitor Hugo, Biraghi; Benassi, Veretout, Fernandes; Mirallas, Simeone, Chiesa
