Pre-Match

Fiorentina made a few changes to the side which drew against Sassuolo 3-3 last time out. Jordan Veretout, Edimilson Fernandes and Nikola Milenkovic all missed out with suspension as Federico Ceccherini, Christian Norgaard and Kevin Mirallas all stepped in to start.

Former Viola Favourite Manuel Pasqual wasn’t involved as Luca Antonelli started on the left of a back five. Barring that, it was as expected for the Azzurri.

First Half

Empoli made the breakthrough as Rade Krunic got on the end of Francesco Caputo’s cross to give the away side the lead in the Derby dell’Arno.

After his dramatic equalizer against Sassuolo, Kevin Mirallas fired Fiorentina level late in the half as he scored in consecutive matches for the Viola.

Second half

After not scoring in eight games Cholito made it two in as many games as he got on the end of a brilliant Biraghi cross to made the scores 2-1 to the Viola.

Substitute Bryan Dabo scored a brilliant goal to give the Viola a two-goal advantage as he scored a stunner from range.
