First half

0-1: Gianluca Caprari, 32

After a relatively even half hour, Fiorentina capitulated. From a Fiorentina corner, Sampdoria hit the hosts on the counter and Gaston Ramirez was given far too much room to shoot. While Sportiello saved well he needs help from his teammates and Nenad Tomovic guilty of ball watching and not seeing the danger around him. The ball subsequently fell to Gianluca Caprari who couldn't miss.

0-2 Fabio Quagliarella, 35

Three minutes late it went from bad to worse. Especially for Tomovic. The right back senselessly slapped the ball away with his hand in the box and gave the referee no choice but to award the spot kick. Fabio Quagliarella stepped up and sent Sportiello the wrong way to double Sampdoria’s lead.

Second Half:

1-2 Milan Badelj, 50

5 minutes into the second half and the come back was on. Bruno Gaspar was subbed on after Tomovic’s horror show and it was a inspired sub from Stefano Pioli. The full back drove right to the by line and cut it back to Badelj arriving who finished well past Puggioni. It was the perfect response from Fiorentina.

The second half was attack against defence in favour of of Fiorentina. La Viola had the ball in the back of the net midway through the second. Simeone’s shot crashed off the post and fell to Federico chiesa but Simeone’s original shot was in an offside position.
