Late news
Zinedine Zidane has mostly opted to play the youngsters, with the exceptions of his centerback pairing of Sergio Ramos and Nacho and Cristiano Ronaldo, who remains suspended for competitive fixtures; Zizou has confirmed that Ronaldo will play the full 90 in an effort to keep him in match shape.
Stefano Pioli, meanwhile, has made some serious changes. Bruno Gaspar will square off against Ronaldo, perhaps in the hopes that their shared Portuguese nationality will get CR7 to take pity on his opponent. Germán Pezzella and Cristiano Biraghi will both make their competitive debuts. Milan Badelj, finally healthy, will partner Jordan Veretout in the middle, while Federico Chiesa will return to the first XI in what could be a very exciting group of attackers. Giovanni Simeone will get the nod up top, as his father will be in attendance. Matías Fernández is finally fit enough for the bench.
