First half

Borja Valero sent in a flawlessly weighted chip that dropped right into Federico Chiesa’s path, and the onrushing youngster made no mistake, settling with his chest and then coolly finishing under Andrea Consigli.

Second half

Following a Federico Bernardeschi header that was wrongly disallowed as offside, Domenico Berardi latched onto a long ball in behind the defense and was brought down in the box by Gonzalo Rodríguez. Referee Claudio Gavillucci gave the penalty and the captain his marching orders, and Matteo Politano duly slotted home the equalizer.

At the 85’ mark, substitute Pietro Iemmello headed home a corner for the lead.

But Federico Bernardeschi had the final say as he burst into the box, then curled a stupendous shot through the Neroverdi defense and past Consigli for an unbelievable late winner.
