Fiorentina Midfielder Milan Badelj may be on his way out of Florence after this season. The Croatian international has been in Florence since 2014 and could be joining his former manager in Milan. Badelj has been one of the more consistent members of the Fiorentina lineup over the past 3 years. He is a decent player, but is looking to leave for other opportunities after a disappointing season with Fiorentina.

According to Football Italia, Badelj’s agent Dejan Joksimovic said, “The time has come for Milan Badelj to leave Fiorentina,” he continued on to say, “The player wanted to leave last summer, when we had a couple of very important offers in hand, but the club and (director Pantaleo) Corvino decided to declare he was not for sale.”

Clearly Badelj is unhappy in Florence and wants to try making an impact for another team. That is a nice idea and hopefully he finds another club to play for. Currently, Badelj is very expendable on the Fiorentina roster. He is a solid player, but has not done a whole lot to improve the club this season.

The most staggering comment by Joksimovic is “The only certainty is that he can be a starter in any of the Serie A sides. That includes Juventus, even if I don’t think they are interested.” Really? Does Joksimovic really believe that? Badelj sometimes cannot even crack the Fiorentina lineup regularly. There is no way he would start for Juventus. Now of course Badelj is a solid player and can get a job in Serie A. All signs point to a reunion with former la Viola boss Vincenzo Montello in Milan. Only time will tell where Badelj will end up, but it is probably safe to say that he will not be wearing a Fiorentina jersey next season.
