Pre-Match
Stefano Pioli reverted back to the usual 4-3-3 but surprisingly left Federico Chiesa on the bench, with Gil Dias in his place. Milan coming off their victory against Inter make changes with Fabio Borini, Patrick Cutrone and Riccardo Montolivo in the lineup.
Going into the game, Milan sat in the bottom half in 11th but could leapfrog The Viola who are only only 2 points ahead in 8th.
First Half
The biggest moment of the first half was the decision not to send off Alessio Romagnoli. Giovanni Simeone seemed to be clear through on goal and the center backs tackle was also studs up, to add insult to injury when only a yellow card was awarded.

Fiorentina ended the half much the better of the two sides, and were very unfortunate not go into the break 1-0 up. After a great ball in by Jordan Veretout, Gil Dias’ header forced Gianluigi Donnaruma into a smart save which bounced onto the bar.

Less than three minutes later, Milan equalized. After Suso’s initial shot was parried wide, Hakan Calhanoglu pounced and finished past the despairing Marco Sportiello who needed help from his defenders.
