Pre Match
The biggest omission from the starting squad is Cyril Thereau. The Frenchman has an injury and is replaced by Gil Dias. The rest of the squad is almost exactly the same as every other match that Fiorentina has had this season. Roma comes in without a loss on the season. It would be great for la Viola if they were able to slay the giant today.
First Half
Scoring started off very quick with a crafty goal by Roma attacker Gerson in the 5th minute.

Fiorentina answered back quickly with a goal of their own on a cross by Gil Dias that was struck into the back of the net by Jordan Veretout in the 9th minute.

Well that lasted for a while and then Giovanni Simeone had a great opportunity to score and lost the ball. Immediately after that Roma ran the length of the pitch on the counter and Brazillian attacker Gerson struck again in the 30th minute.

To level it at two, Christiano Biraghi crossed the ball into the middle. Giovanni Simeoneo barely stayed onside and headed the ball into the back of the net. It may have been one of the prettiest goals all season.

That was the most entertaining first half all season.
Second Half
Right after an injury check on Marco Sportiello, Kostas Manolas scored for Roma off of a corner kick in the 49th minute. It was a really ugly goal and Sportiello did not even move for it.

Fiorentina had plenty of opportunities, but have really come out flat in the second half.
Diego Perotti put the exclamation point on the game by striking a goal in the 87th minute to ruin all hope in Florence.
