After recent speculation linking Federico Chiesa to Paris Saint Germain, Fiorentina have responded giving their star man a new deal.

After whats been an indifferent season there is some very good news coming out of Florence. Fan favorite Chiesa has pledged his allegiance to to the club. The winger has again been one of the bright spots in an otherwise mediocre season.

The news comes at a great time, after a lot of negatives on the pitch the Viola faithful have needed something to smile about.

Having signed a contract for a further one year it’s believed that his wages have risen to €2 million a year, which equates to just under 40 thousand a week. While Fiorentina deserves great credit for tying their greatest talent down, there still will be talk of transfers and some massive clubs who will still not be deterred.

The likes of Chelsea, PSG, Inter, and Napoli have all been credited with an interest and with finances in football so ridiculous, they could blow Fiorentina out of the water with their huge transfer and wage budgets. Fiorentina have also opted not to put a release clause in the new deal meaning Europeans top clubs will have to make a hefty proposal to try and tempt Fiorentina to sell.

Fiorentina need to keep a hold of their best players if they are to get back to challenging for Europe. The club have put out a very positive statement to agreeing to a new deal. It also shows how much the club believe in their youth central policy by holding on to Federico.

It’s easy to forget that Chiesa is still so young, with so much potential the sky is the limit for the youngster. It looks as if his future is in Florence and we can see him score more wonder goals such as this one.
