1-0 Fiorentina: Marco Benassi
After some great interplay between Cyril Thereau and Giovanni Simeone, the latter turned and played the ball to Marco Benassi, who breaking from midfield found space and side footed his shot expertly into the far corner for the former Torino player’s first goal in Viola colors.
Khouma Babacar 2-0
Two minutes after the break Fiorentina doubled their lead. After a superb ball in by Vincent Laurini, Jordan Veretout headed it across to Babacar who tapped home. The Senegalese striker was brought on at half time to replace Simeone in an inspired change by Pioli, and with pretty much his first touch of the game he couldn't miss.

3-0 Cyril Thereau
Just beyond the hour mark it was game, set and match Fiorentina. After Khouma Babacar was brought down by Benevento goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli. Despite incessant protests by the Benevento players the penalty was given. Thereau immediately picked the ball and hammered it home to make it 3-0.
Fiorentina are back in the top half and let’s hope it stays that way. This was a very comfortable and assured performance against what was not great opposition. However you can only beat what’s put in front of you. Khouma Babacar changed the game, as he scored and got a penalty for his side, meaning the game was sealed and there was no nervy finish this time.
