Pre-Match
No spurises from Pioli, with the side starting pretty much how we've seen the all season. Dias' injury during the interaction break gave Marco Benassi a chance to cement his place in the starting 11.
First Half
After a solid start from La Viola, the big Frenchman came back to bite his former employers, finding himself in acres of space to slot home after Chiesa's cross for Giovanni Simeone ended up at Cyril Thereau's feet. And yes, he stuck true to his word and indulged in minor celebrations after he broke the deadlock. Good on you, Cyril.

Second Half
A fanatic drive down the pitch by Veretout meant found himself in a position to test the Udinese goalkeeper from range. Bizzarri's diabolical parry found itself once again at Thereau's feet for a simple finish. 2-0.

But in typical fashion, Fiorentina's utter incapability to look assured of a win in any situation meant Udinese pulled a goal back through Samir.

Post Match
Fiorentina clinging onto 3 points by their fingertips is something we should probably get used to this season. The win sees Pioli's side climb to the lofty heights of 11th, with a win being the perfect remedy to a 3 game win-less run which could have got pretty toxic had Delneri pulled something off today.
Full Time

Udinese: Samir ('72).
Bookings: Samir ('53) Veretout ('54).
