While his client is busy helping Croatia at Euro 2016, the agent of Milan Badelj continues to discuss the possibility of the midfielder leaving Fiorentina this summer, despite him clearly being a vital part of Paulo Sousa's team.
The 27 year old joined the Viola from Hamburg in August 2014 for a fee believed to be around €5 million, going on to make 68 appearances over the past two seasons. Yet he representative Dejna Joksimovic told the Corriere Fiorentino that "there are important top clubs ready to hand Badelj an important role.
Reported interest from Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham and Valencia appears to behind those comments, with the agent insisting "I think it is hard to think of a future for Milan with the Viola" in that same interview.
Joksimovic then continued to promote the services of Badelj in the English media. "We have several teams from Italy and abroad very interested for him, it depends if the club wishes to sell him or not," the agent told the Daily Express. "If not, he will stay another year or two. I read that his price is around £8m but sincerely I do not think that Fiorentina will sell him for this amount, It's more likely closer to £12m."
Badelj worked hard to protect the defence in whatever formation he was deployed, with statistics courtesy of WhoScored.com showing he averaged 2 tackles and 2.6 interceptions in his 27 Serie A outings last term, but it remains to be seen whether Fiorentina can hang on to the Croatian midfielder.
