Chievo Verona 0-0 Fiorentina: Full time

This was pretty much a snoozefest from start to finish.

This one was like a shot to the head. Over and over and over.

Prematch

No real surprises in either lineup, although Matías Fernández made his first start in about a month.

First half

Lots of Fiorentina possession, but little incision, as has been the pattern since, basically, Christmas. The highlight of the half was probably Daniele Cacciatore lashing out and kicking Marcos Alonso in the groin in what could have easily been a red card incident, but the Chievo Verona man escaped with a yellow.

Second half

More of the same. The lively Mauro Zárate hit the woodwork with a free kick shortly after the restart, and Nicola Rigoni did the same on the other end a few minutes later, but it was mostly quite stale until just before the end, when Antonio Floro Flores squeezed a tight-angled shot through Ciprian Tătăruşanu's legs, only for the keeper to scramble it back off the line to preserve a draw.

Full time

Bleh. Just a big steaming pile of bleh. No real bright spots besides Zárate.
