Inter 4-2 Fiorentina: Highlights

It’s full time at the San Siro, and we just watched the worst-officiated game we’ve seen in a long time.

First half

We’d barely had time to start feeling anxious when Marcelo Brozovic turned home the rebound of a Mauro Icardi shot in the 3rd minute to hand the hosts a lead.

Bad news, right? Well, Antonio Candreva doubled the deficit just 6 minutes later after some atrocious defending, especially from Hrvoje Milic.

And 10 minutes later, Mauro Icardi shamed the Viola backline yet again with a blistering solo effort.

A stunned Fiorentina got one back at 37’ when Milan Badelj floated one over the top for Nikola Kalinic, who held off his man and lashed home with his left to cut the Inter Milan lead to 3-1.

Then, just before halftime, referee Antonio Damato gave Gonzalo Rodriguez a straight red card for a foul on Mauro Icardi that was probably a yellow at best, reducing the Viola to 10 men.

Second half

Josip Ilicic scored a peach just past the hour mark with a rocket on the break to further reduce the arrears after a lovely pass from Borja Valero.

Despite a truly valiant effort, though, Inter finally got one back in stoppage time through Icardi, who turned home a Perisic rebound for the final score.
