Giuseppe Rossi is back on the pitch and scoring goals with Juventus legends on the pitch. While it may not be quite the same as carving up the "Old Lady" with a hat trick, Fiorentina's most beloved striker - along with Alessandro Del Piero and old friend Massimo Gobbi - is back on the field. Under the watchful eyes of fitness experts Giovanni Broncore and Luke Bongiorno, as well as Fiorentina pilates instructor (!) Elena Paoli, the Jersey boy scored three goals and provided a slick assist in leading the American team to an 8-5 win over the World team.

After the match, Rossi stated, "I'm ready for the retreat to Moena and a good start to the season, for a year without injuries, and for a great campaign." The Fiorentina retreat begins July 7th. Pepito had recently been training elsewhere in New York, but this is his first pseudo-competitive appearance in a long time.

Rossi was sidelined for the past season after complications to his re-injured knee required another surgery. The goal of this most recent operation was to end the problems once and for all. Let's all hope that Beppe can begin another triumphant comeback this season.
