It has been announced that Fiorentina technical director Eduardo Macía has joined Real Betis. He will be officialy unveiled on 1st May, however it is understood that he has signed a four year contract with the La Liga side. The Spaniard joined Fiorentina in 2011 as talent scout and has worked as technical director alongside sporting director Daniele Pradè since May 2012.
Macía has previously worked for Valencia, Liverpool and Olympiacos before Fiorentina and has spoken of his desire to bring stability to Betis while also mentioning that perhaps some Fiorentina players would prove useful at Betis. The arrival of so many Spanish speaking players at Fiorentina has been attributed to Macía's influence.
Macía's departure will inevitably raise questions about the future of the remaining two members of the trio that have worked closely together since 2012. Pradè is out of contract this summer and could follow Macía out of the club. Vincenzo Montella, however, has once again publically affirmed that there is "no chance" that he Leaves Florence this summer.
