Fiorentina Vs Cagliari: Lineups, Thread, Just Win Please

The squad rotation is, as expected, much more reserved than last Monday's game with Hellas Verona

Fiorentina host Cagliari in the mid-evening match of Serie A, and there are several results from the weekend's matches adding spice to this encounter. Roma lost and Lazio drew, while Napoli and Sampdoria face each other later this evening. While we Viola fans should know better by now than getting our hopes up about the Champions League places, it would certainly be nice to close the gap, cement Europa League position, all while keeping some distance from rising Genoa and Torino. Toro also beat Juventus in the derby today, so much love goes out to them.

More good news comes in the shape of a reasonably strong starting lineup from Fiorentina. Veteran Italian duo Alessandro Diamanti and Alberto Gilardino will form the front three with Mohammed Salah. Milan Badelj will play despite suffering a bruised nose against Hellas Verona.

After two straight Serie A defeats, nothing less than a win will do against a team apparently destined for relegation. Let's hope the stronger lineup pays off for for the boys in purple... FORZA VIOLA!

Official Lineups:

FIORENTINA (4-3-3): NETO; TOMOVIC, SAVIC, BASANTA, PASQUAL; PIZARRO, BADELJ, BORJA; SALAH, GILARDINO, DIAMANTI.

Cagliari (4-3-3): Brkic; Pisano, Diakité, Ceppitelli, Avelar; Joao Pedro, Dessena Ekdal; Cop, M'poku, Farias.
