The tifosi viola will have to stay at home on Sunday evening as the Stadio Friuli's renovation work means that Udinese are unable to accommodate any away fans. Vincenzo Montella has stressed the importance of the league campaign, as Fiorentina remain only 5 points behind AS Roma in second place, and has stated that his team have already forgotten Thursday night's victory over Rudi Garcia's team, in an attempt to remain focused on the job in hand.
Udinese currently lie in mid table, and have only managed one win in their last six games, a 3-2 victory over Torino. Veteran striker Antonio Di Natale should start up front for the zebrette, and with ten Serie A goals to his name this season his decision not to retire at the end of last season looks to be workng out. Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is unavailable due to suspension, Maurizio Domizzi and Lucas Evangelista both miss out through injury.
Fiorentina will bring in Jose Maria Basanta for the injured Stefan Savic and should play with an attacking trident of Khouma Babacar, Mohammed Salah and Alessandro Diamanti. Fit again Mario Gomez and David Pizarro look likely to be amongst the substitues.
The squad will be hoping to take all three points as they continue to push forward in Serie A, but as the final whistle blows on Sunday they will look forward to their well deserved break which will last until they take on Sampdoria on 4th April. Montella described the fixture gap as a chance to mentally recharge before the next round of intense matches. Here's hoping they can start their break with another three points in the bag!
