FIORENTINA vs Milan: Lineups and Rotation #HotTakes

Aleandro Rosi is a surprise starter as Montella rests his first-choice midfield and attack

Alberto Gilardino gets his first start since returning to Fiorentina in January, while the much-maligned Aleandro Rosi will run the right wing in a change in module AND personnel from Viola boss Vincenzo Montella. Borja Valero - who does seem to enjoy a goal against Milan - returns from injury in midfield, but even he wouldn't be a first choice midfielder given the recent form of rested Milan Badelj and the knocked Matias Fernandez. Micah Richards gets a rare start in what looks like a back 3, with Gonzalo Rodriguez and Jose Maria Basanta.

For Milan, they are as expected. The ex-Viola's Riccardo Montolivo and Giampaolo Pazzini miss out, with the recent Roma transfer Mattia Destro starting for Pippo Inzaghi's rossoneri.

The Fiorentina team is certainly less than convincing, but Milan's form has been woeful. Let's hope for a confidence boosting performance under the floodlights in Florence. Forza viola!
