Vincenzo Montella decided to make couple of changes in the squad list for the knockout stage of Europa League, as was expected. But not all the newcomers made it in. Mohammed Salah is on the list, but there was no place for Alessandro Diamanti and Alberto Gilardino.
Montella was allowed to make only three changes to the list he made in September, and he rectified the mistake made back then, of not including Joaquin and Matias Fernandez. Two of them and Salah are the new faces brought in to replace Juan Cuadrado, Marko Marin and Jasmin Kurtić.
The viola are meeting with Tottenham in the first knockout round of Europa League. The game will be played at White Hart Lane stadium on February 19, while the second leg is seven days later.
