Paulo Sousa's Fiorentina travel to on Emilia Romagna on Monday, to take on sixth placed Sassuolo. The neroverdi have made a strong start to the season and currently just six points behind Fiorentina. Their impressive campaign so far has included a win at home to Juventus and a 2-2 draw at home to Roma. Indeed, the Mapei stadium has become somewhat of a fortress and if Fiorentina were to take the three points, it would be the first time Sasuolo had been beaten there this season.

Sassuolo

Eusebio Di Francesco will have to do without his star forward Domenico Berardi - missing again through suspension; however with a front three of Antonio Floro Flores, Grégoire Defrel and Nicola Sansone, the team still possess plenty of attacking prowess as the trio have eight goals between them already this season. A disappointing defeat away to Genoa in week 13 will see the neroverdi looking to regain their superb form and protect their unbeaten home record.

The viola will hope to return to winning ways after a disappointing 2-2 home draw with neighbours Empoli. Paulo Sousa stated in his press conference that he had started studying Sassuolo straight after Fiorentina's 2-2 draw with Basel on Thursday night and added that he thought his opponents would  work well in their games, pressing in every area of the pitch. The coach will name a strong squad for the tough fixture, and only has Jakub Błaszczykowski missing through injury. With Napoli and Inter kicking off directly after Fiorentina's match, the viola will be keen to take all three points knowing that whatever the result at the San Paolo, one of their closest rivals is sure to gain points this weekend.
